Seperating AC3 encoded 5.1

Can Vegas Pro 8.0 either play back, or import and seperate an already encoded surround 5.1 AC3 file into the resulting C,L,R,Ls,Rs,LFE channels? I've gotten a AC3 file from a client, and puzzled that Vegas can't seem to import AC3's, even though it can encode them just fine.
