seperating audio trax from DV in vegas 4

Hi,

I am testing out vegas 4. I am working on a documentary project.. I want to import DV (video + audio) into vegas, then I'd like to get rid of the video track and just use the audio stereo tracks and edit it and then be able to send the audio on CD, etc. Is it possible to strip the audio from a DV tracks? are there any problems with sound quality on the resulting audio? any other issues I should be aware off?

Thanks

I just replied in the video forum.

Drop the captured clip into Vegas' timeline and render as an audio only format, such as .wav.

Note that DV audio is 48KHz, so if you render to 44.1KHz for CD compatibility then the audio will be resampled. There is very minimal quality loss though.

you should be able to just delete the video trak too. if you want to edit the audio with out moving the video trak, you have to "ungroup" the events. just click on either the video or audio event and hit the "U" key. or, to explode a whole group, ctrl + "U".
