serious problem - HELP! parts of the dvd won't play correctly

I have been making a big dvd project based on film from my DV-camera. I've been using Vegas 4.0 editing the film. When I burn it to a dvd with dvd architect (I've tried both 1.0e and 2.0b) with PAL format (NTSC makes the dvd lagging, because 30fps, and my video originally is 25fps), some places in the film it doesn't work at all; playing on a computer seems like adding a gray filter, and dvd-players doesn't play the film at all, only the audio. The strange thing is that this only appears to happen some places in the film, like the last ten minutes. And when I re-rendered the film in Vegas, the problem was still there, but not at the same places. Therefore it seems like a problem in Vegas. This is a serious problem for me, because this film has been months of hard-working. Please help!

"a computer seems like adding a gray filter"

look up 0IRE and 7.5IRE levels , you have two different levels in your project ....

"problems playing last 10 minutes"

try different blank media and/or burn at a lower speed and/or use a different app for burning your project --

always test in more than one brand dvd player.

also - run the mpeg file through a bit rate viewer program and make sure that the PEAK bitrate at any point does not exceed somewhere around 8500 (if with ac3 audio) or 7500 (if PCM audio) - even a little lower than that is not out of place ...
