Same way as Solo, Mute, etc.

sELECT ALL THE TRACK HEADERS THAT YOU WANT TO SET, AND (ooops capslock) set the desired mode on one. All selected will follow.

Click on Track headers whilst holding down Ctrl to select individuals, or holding Shift to select a contiguous series..... this groups all controls, including Automation.

weird...if i select several tracks > volume automation only move on one track

Should work fine if you Record the Autom at same time using the grouped Faders to control the volume;
or are you trying to apply Autom written for one track to another track?
or trying to Edit Autom for one track expecting others to follow?

Your OP said "any way to set automation across multiple tracks at same time" - maybe you should expalin what you are doing / trying to do more precisely .....

yes i meant manually in the timeline - but i get the point now

mmm .... I don't think you can edit autom for one track and have others follow/mirror your actions.

Bus the tracks then automate the bus.

The last Sony Seminar dealt with these aspects nicely. Shouldn't be long before it appears around here as a "stream" to view.
