Set time at cursor? Is this "insert" an amount of time at the cursor? Or something different?

It lets you set the project ruler to a value you enter. R Click in the ruler, it's the last option.

I do that all the time for a "countdown" to the start of my video for when I'm editing or someone wants a countdown for some reason. :)

it IS a nifty little feature!

Got it. Might come in handy to get a quick calc on the time from the cursor to another point.

You can measure time between two points by marking a loop region.

Where it saved my bacon was I did a project that ultimately rolled three projects into one e.g. show1, show2, show3 all end to end in a compilation project.
Then the client sends back timecoded comments from watching the DVD. Except project show3.veg starts at 0! By changing the ruler in show3.veg to match where that video ended up in the compilation I could exactly follow the clients comments by timecode.
