Setting a loop point for menu audio only

Sierra Nomad Photography wrote on 11/15/2009, 10:13 PM
Hi:

I'm sure this must be very simple; but I'm just not seeing how to do this.

I use .psd images as my menus; and of course have links on the menus. I have added a short music track and want to get it to loop.

I tried to do this by setting the loop point in the Properties Panel; but the links are absent until the loop point. I want the links to always be present.

In short; how do I set it so the audio plays continuously - without affecting any other aspect of the menu?

I appreciate any input.

Jon

The Loop Point (indicated by the green line on your timeline) indicates the point at which your navigation appears on your menu in addition to being the point at which your menu page loops back to as it repeats. In other words, there will be no buttons on your menu page until the first time it plays the Loop Point. (This is usually preferred, for a number of reasons.)

In other words, I don't know of any way to have the buttons be on your menu page prior to your Loop Point. Unless, of course, you created "dummy" graphics that look like your buttons as placeholders until the real ones become active.

I don't think loop points are what you want to use.

Just set a MENU length that is the same as your music and have your end action loop rather than hold.

Great! Thanks Dave. I'll give it a try.

Yep, tried it and that's exactly what I was looking for; works like a charm. Thanks again!

I'm just curious.

I did this with DVDA 5; can it also be done in 4.5 Studio?
