setting video levels coming in

I'm almost certain there isn't a way in Vegas (I use 6) to adjust your video levels while capturing. Is there an inexpensive way to do this? Possibly even by software or a plug in?

If you were to do an analog capture and run it through a proc(cessing) amp first, then you'd have control. Otherwise no. Sorry :-(

No, the saved file is exactly the bits coming in. The display may be adjusted, but that doesn't change the video.
