Settings backup for MSP 13 and Vegas Pro 15

Hello there!

Since i am upgrading my hardware and reinstalling everything, I'd just like information about how i can backup custom settings, especially render setting profiles and subtitle setting profiles (Sony Title & Text). Made the stuff with Movie Studio Platinum 13. VP14 and VP15 just had it available, after. I want to import the stuff in VP15 on the new System/SSD. Using Windows 10 Pro, i don't think the hardware is relevant here!?

Thank you in advance!

I do the presets (when needed) by putting all those selfmade presets into one project and open later that one somewhere else in another or higher version of Vegas software.

Good tip. But how exactly do you do that? Just save any project file? Or do i have to use all of the presets at some point? And how about the rendering presets?

Thanks!

Your Movie Studio 13 Render templates will be found in your User\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Render Templates.

More recent versions use a Vegas folder instead of Sony although I've found mine in both. VMS16 appears to check in both.

I don't know about Vegas Pro but I have a recollection from a Pro post comment that Pro puts them somewhere else.

The rendertemplates in the latest Pro version are here:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\VEGAS\Render Templates\........
and the FX presets here:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\VEGAS\FX Presets\………..

With Movie Studio FX Presets are in a different place. In your User Documents folder in subfolder 'OFX Presets'.

Settings of fx, rendertemplates, titles etc I made in VMS, also automatically appear in VegasPro. Without doing anything! Of course, only on the same computer.

Thank you guys, that was very helpful. I found my render presets in the roaming folders and the subtitles in OFX presets in my documents folder and did a backup. :o)

Will keep my old SSD where it's all installed so i can always have another look if anything appears to be missing later.
