Settings for Mobile Video

So, on Vimeo you can download a mobile version of your video and lit looks great on your phone and it's reletively small. I'm trying to recreate it in a Vegas render and the file is like 4 times larger.

Basically I have a client who wants a 2 min. video for droid to be no larger than 5MB. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, final file size is determined exclusively by the encoding bit rate. Try this as a starting point: Use the Main Concept MP4 encoder, assuming that the video is widescreen, set the image size to 854x480 progressive, encode 2-pass at 256,000 average, 512,000 max, using 64k audio.

(If the source video/project is interlaced, make sure you set the deinterlace method in the project's properties to "interpolate")

256k is a pretty low video bitrate, so if there is a lot of motion in the video, it may not look very good. Encoding is an art and there are a lot of trade-offs, particularly at very low bit rates. You could halve the frame rate (i.e. 29.97 > 14.985) and squeak some extra video quality at the expense of motion smoothness. If the audio is less important, you could lower the audio bit rate and increase the video bit rate by an equal amount.
