I want to have say 4 p/c windows on 4 track events ALL under the cursor, open at the same time. This would mean I'd have total aesthetic control within the p/c t/l for each and every one of the events - yeah?
Please tell me, someone understands what I mean - yeah?
Sounds good to me LIKE a live editing sesh. where you could watch AND "edit" as it feels right. Switching from camera to camera on a real time editing setup !
Perhaps you could open 4 Versions of vegas. Adapt to fit. Then find a way to cut the right instance.. I know you want an outside monitor for each track
You're nearly there . . just to have all the windows open to each "vertical" event . . then we could really be cooking . . yeah? I've nearly got this with a project I'm working on .. .
Pan/Crop = P/C . . Ah c'mon Cheemie, "Again in English Grazie, whats p/c ?", THAT'S a bit "hard" of you! I believe I had written my requests in English, it was more about being precise about definitions rather than NOT being in English .. ? How about asking me "Grazie, what do you mean by p/c?" . .
Do I understand you correctly that you want the popup dialog for one p/c to NOT replace the popup dialog from another p/c so that both (or more) are visible at the same time? I agree with you that it would be nice to control whether or not the dialogs replace each other or pop up in their own window. I have often wanted this while editing. I don’t see any way to do it with the current Vegas interface. Why don’t you put in a suggestion for Vegas 6. ;-)
Hey while at the wishing well... I’d like the timeline to be relocatable so that I can tear it off and place it on the bottom with the preview window on top like every other NLE I’ve used. There’s something about having the window in the lower part of the screen while the timeline is on top that is like placing my keyboard on top of my monitor and then looking down to see what I’m doing. I don’t understand why the timeline is not dockable while all the other windows are. Seems silly.
JR! Thank you . . you got it correct . . Now I have a "logical" solution.
P/C is a function. It has a K/Fs t/ls at it's base. Why not have the multiple T/Ls appear here? If I've got 10 events under the cursor at this point, then 10 t/ls would appear. P/C IS the function for these Events AT this point in time. Haviing one events P/C K/Fs T/L being replaced is more than . .using your word for the "other" thing . as silly . .it is, IMHO, logically incorrect.
But, thanks JR, you can see what I'm after. Having just experienced the "joy" of piloting k/f for P/C AND Satish's 3D Plugin K/F T/Ls . . has been truly invigorating and just plain SEXY! It works and produces the type of intuitive high ground I'm always searching for with Vegas.
Oh yes your last para . . How about Rip-Offable t/ls all around . .A place where we could "assemble" T/Ls to our hearts content.
JR . .thanks for understanding what I was thinking . . really means a great deal . . .
Hello Grazie sorry about that I read it once and thought what is he going on about, any way my idea's. as only one Pan/Control panel can be open at one time.
1 do all the P/C on the first track then copy the clip(s)t to a lower track, then use the drag a clip from the bin/trimmer with the Right mouse button and use the take function, then the T/C should all be in the same place.
2 Use the Track Motion to put down markers an use them as reference's to do the T/C and then remove them when completed.
Ahh... a cross T/L function! Perhaps you can highlight the tracks you want to manipulate and only the events on those tracks will how up as T/L’s at the bottom of the dialog. This way if I only have one track selected (as is normal) it works as it does today (i.e., make it a deliberate act). Perhaps even multi-select just the events you want to manipulate?
I’m with ya’ on this one Grazie. If we’re crazy, at least we have company. ;-)
> Use the Track Motion to put down markers
Actually, this is not a bad idea. If you can use Track Motion, then the keyframes are visible on the timeline and you can cut and paste them and line them up. I’ve used this before and is makes it very easy to line up the motion of multiple events. Would this work for what you want to do?
A nice function would be to allow the opening of new windows when you press a certain key (shift key as an example)
I I open the pan crop dialog without pressing the shift key, it will replace the current open window. If I open it while pressing the shift key, it would open in a new window.
That would be totally awesome. (and nested timelines also !!)
