SF Download Page suggestion...

Everytime we download something from SF, we're asked to input our personal information from scratch as if it was our first visit to the site. How about an option to register with a User Name and Password? It sure would make downloading on a regular basis more convenient.

It doesn't ask me every time, only once per machine that I've used for downloading. I believe it's stored in a cookie so that you only have to enter it once. Perhaps your browser is not set up to store this cookie.
