SFK Files?

I imported some movie clips from a DVD into Sony VMS 10 HD. After reviewing the clips and playing around with some editing tools in VMS, I closed the file without saving any changes. I now have a bunch of SFK files in the directory with the original download, which imported as an mpg file.

What are the SFK files and do I need to keep them?

Thanks again, musicvid.

Being an absolute newbie at video editing, I am still stumbling around in climbing the learning curve ladder with VMS.

One more question that is on the horizon. As I stated, the imported DVD files came over in an mpg format. I will be editing these files to clean up the images, since they were from old 8 mm film from the 1950s. The colors are faded, lighting is bad, and the images are a little fuzzy. Some initial editing experimentation in VMS provided some encouraging results.

Anyway, once I have the editing done and add some music and voice-over soundtracks, what would be the best file format to use in saving to a new DVD? Or, will I even have a choice in that matter?

Thanks.

Bob

DVDs are MPEG-2. That is what you should render.

As for cleaning up old 8mm film transfers, look up some of johnmeyer's old posts. Many of us have found his experience enlightening.
