"SFMMCX"-(17) Burn Error - Help!

Having completed my first edit in Vegas 7a and created the DVD in DVDA4 I now find that when the DVD encoding and preparation is completed I am presented with this error.

"An error occurred opening a file on the system.
Make sure that you have permission to access this file."

The details are:-

'SFMMCX'-(17)
''-(0)
-'SONY DVD RW DW-D150A 1.MD'-(0)
Module Line 0

Status: 00000000
Command:
Sense: 00 00 00
Info: 00 00 00 00
Specific: 00 00 00"

The DVD burner is internal but I have tried two external drives as well via USB2. Another Sony 26a and a Mitsubishi with the same error.

I then copied the DVD folders over my network to another PC with DVDA4 , used the external Sony 26A via USB and was able to burn directly out of DVDA4 on that machine from folders created on the machine producing this error.

The only other burning software I have installed is Nero 6 no packet writing software at all. In fact both computers a have similar software set installed.

Has anyone found a cure for this type of error as it can't be drive firmware if the burner will work on one machine but not another under DVDA?

Did you ever get a response to this?

I'm getting a similar response with a Philips DVD+-RW DVD8801 device.

Anyway one of the few you get googling if you want to pursue.

This error can be caused by something as simple as making the disk name of the DVD too long.

Try keeping the disk name to seven (7) letters or less.

It was all I had to do to fix the problem.
