SFMMCX.cpp Error

Can anyone help! I am using Architect Studio 5 build 128. when I try to burn a disc I get the following error when burning lead-in: "Command failed due to IOCTL error. Your interface or Drive may be configured incorrectly"
'SFMMCX'-(17)-(0)
-HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22LP20 2.00'-(0)
Module d:\ etc. etc. LINE 1757

This is also happening on my 2nd drive, which is an LG Blu Ray Burner, except it gives
"SFMMCX'-(17)-(2)
The command completed without errors
It gives the line as 1757, then says 'No Sense'

So, in short, I cannot use DVD Architect to actually burn a disc. I can create an ISO, then burn that using other software. But isn't that defeating the object ? My burners work perfectly OK with Adobe Premier Elements and Roxio - but not Sony.. Any ideas anyone ?

What operating system are you using? Is it the 64-bit version of Windows 7?

is this the original operating system for this computer or did you upgrade it? Was any of this hardware added later?

It sounds like it's as simple as mismatched drivers -- as you might well see if, for instance, you took an XP system and upgraded it to Windows 7 64-bit.

I am using Windows 7 32 bit. I did upgrade from Windows Vista when 7 was released, and the drives are newish, well, both within the last 3 months. Both were installed before DVD Architect, which I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times in the vain hope of solving this problem. As I have said, I am not having any other software playing up with burning problems.

I would definitely recommend going to the LG site and whatever the other drive's manufacturer's site and downloaded the latest firmware for both drives.

It doesn't matter if you installed the software that came from them or let Windows 7 SP1 install it automatically. The first thing I'd do is get the latest drivers and firmware from the sources.

Thanks Steve, Already done that. Both drives have the latest firmware. Both are LG Drives. I went to the LG site and checked the firware versions for both drives, and they are both using the latest releases.

I have the same problem. My system is i5 Windows 7 64bit. After about 15 seconds during the lead in burn, a box appears telling me that the command completed without errors. When I click the details button I get the following.

'SFMMCX'-(17)
''-(1)
-'HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CH20N A101'-(0)
Module d:\source\sonic3\release\dvdarchitect\studio5.0\cddrvs\sfcd\sfmmcx.cpp Line 1757
The command completed successfully.
No sense.

Status: 00000000
Command:
Sense: 00 00 00
Info: 00 00 00 00
Specific: 00 00 00
Extra:

This has only started happening recently. I can only assume that a Windows update has caused the problem. I now use third party burning software which works fine.
