Shadow of mask? can’t get right color

I have gradient media gen with a mask like a ribbon on 2 tracks

So I cheat…flip mask in glow change angle stretch = got 1 more. Flip mask in shadow stretch etc = got another

The problem is I can’t change the color of the shadow ??? I’ve done this before. The color stays black

Can someone see if they have the same problem = Vegas 9.0 c

Here is the intro of the clip http://www.myvideo.co.za/channels/xfx

Grazie,
In the clip I only used the glow from the track and then sharpened the edges and chose the colours. I didn't use the shadow as I couldn't change the colour, which was solid black.
Even if you just use plain text on a track, you cant choose the colour of the shadow anymore, it only gives you black. I cant remember if it's always been this way. I think its only recently that it's done this.

The Guinness Shoot was terrible, we had to shoot and drink Guinness for 3 days until we finally got the shot.

For obvious reaons I've only got V9.0b running.
Just tried the following:

Botton track solid white.
Upper track solid black
Cutaway top track with mask.
In track motion add 2D shadow and select color as red.

I get a red shadow. Distance, blur and color controls work as expected. If my tests emulate the condition you cannot get to work it sound like it's a bug unique to V9.0c.

Thanks Bob. I took the veg file home and there it works fine, I can get the colour in the shadow. I will have to reinstall Vegas at work.

Thanks guys.
