I must be one of the last ones still on Windows 7..I don't have any problems with it but was wondering with new software updates would work better and faster with Windows 10 than Win 7....is anyone still on Win 7?
The latest versions of Vegas seems to work quite stable also with Win 10. Only if you wish to edit s3D based on nvidia 3D vision and a Quadro I would stay with Win 7 or Win 8.1. Do not expect much faster results - that is what I have seen here.
Windows 10 probably best runs on hardware made after 2012. All of my PC's and laptops which I purchased around 2009-10 that were upgraded for free under the Windows 10 upgrade program had problems with video and RAID drivers for me, and I had to roll back to Windows 7 on everyone of them. I was getting crashes and random freezing. Since rolling back to Windows 7, no issues. I eventually had to upgrade to Windows 10 on my main editing system when the motherboard failed and required replacing the CPU, memory, RAID and motherboard. A rebuild was required as Windows 7 would not load up on the new hardware. I have had more crashes on Windows 10 in the past year than I have had on Windows 7 in about 6 years. I see no performance benefit in Windows 10, to be honest.
In short, if you want to go to Windows 10 without headaches, do it when you get a new system.
I had Windows 7 on 4 computers then switched two of the video computers to Windows 10. Windows 10 doesn't like older equipment period and that includes some hard drives. Windows 10 updates cannot be shut off (delayed only) and when it does update it locks up your machine until the update is finished. It also steels all of the channels on the router freezing everything else during the updates. It does a lot of what I call "A.I." stuff like all of a sudden switching codecs around randomly. Windows 10 also requires separately downloading legacy drivers and it really doesn't like firewire ports. So I went back to Windows 7 on those machines and I now am very happy.

I updated to 10 when it was first released on 3 computers. The only problem I have is the auto updates. I don't like the way it is done. I was able to freeze my video card version. Firewire works fine and I have not had any codec problems, not saying they don't exist, just that I have not experienced them. Much like Vegas, your windows 10 experience may vary.
No big issues with Win10, except last month I have a network sharing issue, which I'm unable to solve.. but, perhaps my OS was already 'a bit old' and 'not fresh anymore'.
Total reinstallation of Win10, start from beginning again solve the problem, and so far it works nicely with Vegas Pro 15.
I like 10 better then 8.1 (a couple features I used were removed in 10), but I *HATE* 7. I found it like ME between XP & 8.1. Bleh. :)
I have Vegas 10 & have had no issues with it on Windows 10 (been using 10 since release on my main machine)
MS now lets you install windows 10 fresh install if you upgraded. You just need to download a newer ISO vs when it was initially released & when you setup windows you register and it remembers your upgrade info.
I love everything about Windows 10, no problems with Vegas what so ever, I finished every video projects without a single crash. My project usually end up in about 1:30 minutes long. However, for what ever reasons, my Adobe Lightroom 6 is no longer work. But my Lightroom 5.2 is still working fine. Windows 10 messed with my Lightroom 6 and I can not get it back to work now. . I reinstalled and update to latest lightroom. When I open the program I got an error message.
