I bought Animattes from FreedomFx.com. It came with a bunch of static mattes (besides the animated ones.) I believe you can buy just the static ones if that's what you want.

Try http://www.luckycharms.com I think they also have yellow moons, orange stars, green clovers, blue diamonds, pink hearts in addition to other things. you might try http://www.alpha-bets.com for the the alpha... :-)
Couldn't resist.

http://www.clipart.com is a great resource for a lot of this sort of thing.

Spot, try to be a bit more careful when you type things. 2 out of the 3 urls you mentioned are wrong.
- "lucky charms" has a blank in it and if you type it without blank you get to a celtic store (?!)
- the second url doesn't exist (well done!)
By the way: one can find similar thoroughness on the CD of your book where the veg. files have plenty of broken links... extremely annoying!!!

Doesn't Digital Juice's Juice Drops have plenty of shapes, photos, backgrounds, etc. They are expensive but certainly worth it in my opinion.

Dr.Z's in Germany, perhaps they don't have Lucky Charms or Alpha-Bets there.

Why wouldn't you just make them in PhotoShop (granted, if you have it)? Both transparency and gradient opacity in PSDs work just fine in Vegas.
