Shared chapter points

I have an old travel holiday video which I wish to put onto a DVD. I wanted to put in lots of chapter points so that anything could be found quickly & easily. I would like to create a second set of scene selection menus for just certain scenes, say for instance scenes with animals, or famous places etc. Some of the chapter point would be in the main scene selection menu as well & some of them wouldn't be. Can both scene selection menus share the same points or do I have to start putting chapter points in from scratch again? Is there a better way to achieve this?

Sure.

Add your video to the main menu. Create your chapter points (or import them if you did that in Vegas). Create your scene selection menu (right-click on the video's button, choose Insert Scene Selection Menu). Go to the Scene Selection menu and select the buttons you want on the main menu (either drag around them or Ctrl-click each one). Do Edit -> Copy. Go to your main menu, do Edit -> Paste.

Done. :)

If you want each scene to return to a menu instead of playing the next chapter, that's a little more complicated.

bStro's technique is how I do it as well.

One point of caution: Do not ADD chapter points after you have started to create the scene menus. If you do, all of your scene menus that point to chapter stops AFTER the one you inserted will now point to the wrong chapter, and you will manually have to fix each and every chapter.

Thus, always create ALL chapter points before you start creating your menus.
