Sharing Video<>PC throughout House?

Why do I think this maybe of value to me? Does this mean I can have access to my "upstairs" pc thru my TV? My CRT TV downstairs in the lounge?

It is a sender/receiver system that can transmit composite-only SD video and a line-level stereo audio pair in one direction. It does not include any sort of back-haul remote control functions. For what they are, they work pretty well.

But it does say Change channel from another room with the built-in IR remote repeater

Some video senders also have a return path and some do not. This one apparently does so remote controls will work with it.

It also states:

"5.8GHz frequency band - no interference from wireless networks or wireless CCTV "

If that is true it may address a common problem with video senders which is that because video senders are analogue, they are affected by wireless interference from cordless phones and WiFi. They also tend to interfere with WiFi as well.

Here are the video senders carried by Amazon.coUK. Some of them have customer reviews. I didn't see one that looked exactly like the one you were interested in, but there are still some useful user reviews to give you an idea of what people think of similar video senders.

On the Amazon.com website in the US, I found even more reviews of video senders for you to read.

With so many ways of distributing video over a LAN these kinds of RF links seem a bit pointless. I've got one of the old 2.4GHz ones that works very well even through several brick walls and 100M of open space but I kitted it out with direction aerials. To get interference form a cordless phone on the same frequency you have to get the phone in the path of the link. Then again a set of longish yagi aerials aren't exactly easy to hide in domestic decor.
