Grazie...sorry but no time to spare. I added a little film grain noise into the mask, then blend it with the original. That, with a slow pan of the the entire pool area, made it look pretty darn good! I didn't know if there was a quick, down and dirty way to get this done that I didn't know about!

Butch, next time around you might be able to use the Vegas displacement map technique shown in this tutorial by JR.

I used a GenArts plug-in called Monsters GT - and their Puddle 3D FX. If you send me a still of the pool, I can send you back a file you can use.

The media gen has noise textures for this type of thing

3D track, Place media gen on the TL micro threads, eye drop your two colors and add bump map fx
increase grain and animate progress degrees and offset y to taste.
angle track to match perspective. mask and then composit = screen.
