Short Shown at Theater

This is a very short digifilm I made that was shown Friday the 18th at The Magnolia Theater in Dallas for a book signing event. I consulted this forum for how to do the video's on the TV screens behind the man raising his hands for the "power' sequence. I'm sorry I can't remember who gave me the clues to use "track motion", but it worked! Much thanks to Chienworks for letting me upload this to his server on www.vegasusers.com.

It's called MacNamaras Dream

I didn't write it nor direct it, I just shot, edited, did sfx and sound (not music).

Congrats! Was a lot of fun. The editing seemed very tight to me and I think the way you synced to your music score was done very well. I would have loved to seen it at the Magnolia but was in California on business last week -- and took advantage of being there by attending Douglas Spotted Eagle's VAST tour.

My friend, co-producer and fellow Dallas actor Farah White (we did the Red Bull documentary for the 24-Hour Video Race) and I are in preproduction of a short that we hope to screen at the Magnolia and other venues around town. Our course, we'll edit and do our compositing entirely in Vegas. We nearly didn't make the showing of our documentary at the VideoFest because of all the problems we experienced with our former editing software.

Anyway, good luck with all your projects. Perhaps our paths will cross sometime soon....

Thanks!
I'd like that!

I have not looked at the RedBull Doc yet, but did purchase 2 of the DVD's and will check it out. I won an honerable mention for solo acts in the juried contest and first in the online vote on the 24 Hour race thing.

Hollar at me if you ever need any help

{ Excuse Mode ON }

Please keep in mind that Farah and I are actors (we prefer to be in front of the camera) and that was our first shoot/edit project together -- and we had to edit with, ugh ... Premiere. I became so frustrated with Premiere during that project that I went looking for something else. Thankfully, I found Vegas.

{ Excuse Mode OFF }

I still have all the clips, though, and now that I've switched to VV3 I may go back and re-cut it for fun.
