should i recapture my vv3 video with v4?

i have 3 tapes that i captured using vv3 but have not used any of it yet. are there any quality or other advantages to recapturing using v4?

If these tapes are DV, then probably none at all. IF they're analog and you captured with an external AV->DV converter, then probably also none at all. If they're analog and you captured with an internal capture card, then maybe, barely, just slightly a quality improvement, depending on a myriad of factors that may or may not be related to Vegas ...

In summary, probably not and it's probably not worth the effort even if there is a tiny increase in quality. There certainly won't be any increase in quality if they were DV captures.

they are DV tapes. i didn't know if possibly v4 captured files would be better quality and/or smaller file size. i'll probaby just leave them as is. thanks for the reply.
