In most cases for deinterlacing Blend is the better choice.

A lot depends on your source material. My understanding is that deinterlacing is rarely a good thing to do and I've never been happy with any deinterlacer.

Deinterlacing can be done well or badly. Vegas' deinterlacer was a hot subject of debate on the FCPUG forums a while back because Vegas does a better job of deinterlacing than a reasonably expensive plug for FCP.
If it's ever going to broadcast, there is no value in deinterlacing at this point in time, unless you know for certain it will be broadcast in 720p. Even then, it's a crap shoot as to how the older interlaced systems will manage the reinterlacing of your footage. But if it's for multimedia/computer only delivery...you'll almost always want to deinterlace.
