Shuttle express is flaky

My shuttle express works sometimes, but most of the time its dead and won't respond in Vegas. It is connected correctly, my computer recognizes it. The settings are for Vegas 4. When I open Vegas, it doesn't respond. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on? I searched the archives and found no similar problems. Thanks for your help.

I find this in other programs to. so it must be a contour design problem and not a sonic foundry problem

hi

are you select the settings from vegas or the settings from contour
and have you the new update from contour?
bekose i've got "space shuttle" and i try the new update from contour. it doesn't work,
so i back to the old and i take the settings from tne vegas file.

It might be a setting I'm missing in Vegas. Right after I made this post, I went to Vegas and it worked. This morning I turned Vegas on and it did not work. I don't know exactly the settings to tinker with in Vegas, I only use the Shuttle settings and they say "Global". I switched the settings to Vegas 4 but it doesn't seem to make a difference. My guess is that the Shuttle drivers need some touch up work.

If that's a shuttle pro or shuttle xpress, remove old drivers. Download new drivers (1.3.0b) from Contour website, work with contour and hercules/guillemot shuttles. They come with predefined settings for 65 applications and work like a charm. And you can load the pref from the Vegas4 installation on top of that if you want to. 'Global' while vegas is on and has focus means Shuttle doesn't recognize Vegas.
