ShuttlePro and Vegas

So I've been eyeing one of these for quite a while, I have become quite proficient at just using a keyboard and mouse to move around,...but am wondering what preferences people have out there...I dont' want to spend the money if I'll end up returning to just the keyboard...so I'm just wondering if overall people have found that a ShuttlePro has improved their productivity and efficiency over the use of a keyboard and mouse?

Some things I do alot of include working in the trimmer, and marking video and adding to the timeline...once I'm in the timeline, i'm mainly moving clips around, fine tuning edits, adding effects, etc...

It's probably a matter of taste and ergonomics. I've used the Shuttle Pro on several projects now, and I find having a dozen commands at my finger tip, rather than reaching over to the keyboard, to be easier on my tired old bod. I work on a lap-top table, with the Shuttle Pro under my left hand, the mouse under my right. Much of the time I don't have to reach for the keyboard at all.

I've also found the jog shuttle to be invaluable when scrubbing through a clip since it enables me to hear the audio as I watch the video roll by, and to make frame-level adjustments very easily and accurately.

Navigating and trimming are the jobs I love to do with my shuttle device. I can't imagine a more comfortalbe way of editing.

Try and figure out how many keyboard shortcuts you use all the time.

The new ShuttlePro has 15 buttons. Combine that with a multibutton mouse and you may not have to use the keyboard all that often.

Shuttle Pro greatly speeds up the editing process. I couldn't believe how great it worked when I first got it. However, I get a clicking sound when recording voiceovers and using the ShuttlePro to scrub back and forth over the audio track.

The key question here is ; which hand do you use on the shuttle pro?
I have a big problem using the left hand and the mouse in the right. So I go back to the keyboard. And besides that I am not a very good editor anyway.
So the shuttle pro is gathering dust.

Left hand on shuttle, right hand on mouse. I got used to it after a while.

Does anyone know what the main differences are between version 1 and version 2 of the ShuttlePro?

Version 2 added two extra buttons, which can be used to execute not just Key stroke combinations, but macros - i.e. a sequence of instructions rather than just one.
