Hopefully Magix will be more responsive about developing a Vegas sidechain capacity than Sony ever was, especially if we all continue to complain about it. Magix: at least let us know you are aware of the problem and working on upgrading Vegas 14 to allow plugins such as Waves C-1 sidechain compressor to do what other DAWs have done for years!
Don't hold your breath. Requests for side-chaining (as well as OMF support) has been going on since Vegas 1.0, which was a DAW (audio only). Reaper does side chaining, which was modeled after Vegas, so it's an easy transition, of course it's not a NLE. But for that matter, most NLEs have no advanced audio tools at all.
Still breathing, but Magix does appear to be more responsive than Sony ever was. I wonder how many people, besides you and me, remember when Vegas was only audio? As I said in my earlier post, I'm hoping that enough others will begin requesting such things as sidechaining, that they will upgrade. This old dog could learn new tricks such as Reaper, ProTools, etc, but I'd rather not. Thanks for your comment. Let's hope Magix is listening in to these posts . . . Buttons
