Sideways scrolling text... possible in Vegas?

Hi folks. I'm trying to quickly drop some sideways scrolling text over a lower third in v8, and coming up blank.
None of the built-in Credit Roll presets offer sideways movement, just up/down scrolling.

I had a look in the ProType Titler, but to be honest, I find it totally unfriendly and pretty much alien to the intuitive way Vegas normally operates... and with 40 short News pieces to edit in 3 days I simply don't have the time to battle with a new paradigm right now.

I tried creating a very wide text PNG document, hoping to use pan&scan to move it across the frame, but that looked a mess...

Does anyone have any ideas how to create those 'tickertape' scrolling News Headlines?

Just load the regular text box start typing
then tick the placement tab and move all the way to the right out of frame then
key frame the end and move all the way left. set the length at the top

I tried it before by typing in my long phrase into the text generator, then trying to keyframe movement using track motion or event pan/crop... but it would only move the segment of text displayed within the frame.

I didn't realize you could keyframe placement within the text generator itself - perfect!
