SIIG firewire card Model NN2628

Does anyone have any experience with this card. After installing it and reading the docs it turns out it has a Texas Instrument chip set. I know Vegas has issues with TI chipsets. Anyone know specifically about this one? It doesn't seem to be working unless I have it set wrong. I'm using a Sony DCR-TRV140 DV camera to try to record from Vegas. Preview doesn't work, I'm trying to actually print to DV tape right now but it is going through a rendering process.

Thanks
Todd

I have the SIIG Model NN2612 if that counts. I assume they're the same chip set. I'm having problems with Preview too. All I get is a black & white picture and once in a while some color. But the color will appear sporadically, fade in and out in weird hues and then go back to B&W. I'm using a Sony TRV7 camera.

In Premiere 6.0 the preview is perfect so it's clearly a Vegas problem. I wish they would fix it because there are lots of SIGG users out there.

Sometimes I get so frustrated trying to get an idea of what my output will look like on TV that I end up going back to Premiere, which is far more stable in this respect. NOT an efficient way to edit.

If that is their cardbus, then, I had the same problem with it. Unfortunately, after many attempts at trying to get it to work, a SIIG customer representative told me officially that their product is not compatible with my Dell computer. It just flat out won't work. I returned it for a Western Digital cardbus and it worked right out of the box.

Strange, not sure what you mean Vegas has issues with TI Chipsets...been using these for a long time from various mfgrs...

Are you sure you have the proper MS DV driver installed. When a device is plugged-in and turned on it should show up under Imaging Devices in Device Manager, while in Video Capture it should show up under the Video menu as "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR"

Have you tried capturing from it?
