Silent MP3s!

Hi - mysterious issue time! Suddenly my rendered MP3s have no sound in them, undermining their existence somewhat. Rendered loads before without issue. Did a test with a Wav and that was fine. I'm using Pro 16. Has anyone any ideas about this ridiculous problem?

What has recently changed on your system? Windows update? Any codec packs added (hope not).

maybe partially related? I just noticed that my VBR mp3 isnt playin in vegas, but CBR is. dont know if there were updates, not sure if I was in vegas 15 or 17 trial

Hi both, thanks. No updates or codecs THAT I KNOW OF. However, interestingly, having read the thread you linked to, I changed the name of the file (to 'this is bollocks' if you're curious) and it worked fine! What the hell?! Yet another daft quirk from the Computer World. Thanks again.

For some reason, and issue vegas has with specific sound files is that it can not properly overwrite already existing ones. Renaming or deleting the file you wish to overwrite will fix this.
