simple colour correction

have just got the rushes for a doco i'm editing. it was shot by a number of different camera people, and some have used auto white blance (pd 150 and 170), which has gone artificial light in daylight shadows (ie., bluish).

anyone got a veg / script / saved effect to:

a. colour correct bluish daylight to daylight. (i don't want to colour correct every shot since if i establish the correct colour balance on one shot it'll apply to all).

b. vice versa (might be nice to have a colour contrast between various interviews)

and yes, i could play with cc or secondary cc, but if someone has gone before, why waste time....

thanks,

leslie

A veg file can't help you, because for color correction, the corrector needs to see the frame and it's contents. You can color correct one image, store the correction as a preset, and then apply it to everything on a track or in the Media Pool.
Ultimate S has some presets for various colors, but they're based on averaging, not the frame contents.

ushere - I'm just doing the exact same thing, also with interviews .. with stuff I shot! One was a well bright day light filled large meeting room and the other was a twilight shot in a floro - greenish tinge/Martian! light - now, the jump from A to B I feel is too great. Get on down to CC! Now I have a load of Presets ready for further use. BUT, even I know they wont fulfil all the shots .. maybe 80%, but I can tell I'm gonna need to design some more. I DO like the vice versa . .interesting! . . Now, I've taken this concept of yours and thought maybe I could get an Interview Colour Look. Finalise a CC that looks good for all ints and then apply it to others . . Spot, is this nonsensical, belaying a misunderstanding on my part? I guess you'll tell me?

Ummmm...Isn't that what I suggested earlier? Correcting color, saving the preset, and applying to all related shots? That's how most folks do it, I believe

Ok . .so if I've got something that is greeny/yellowy and another one that is bluish/whitish . .I could use one CC for both? I was thinking that maybe the 2 events coming together might not look a piece . .and that I would have to be far more sensitive to getting that CC link one to another . . that's all.

I've got one event that is Yellowy . .and another that is bluish .. create a CC that is in between? Apply to both will briunbg themn both toe the line? OK! Great . . I'm on it!

Sometimes, Spot, I think tooooo hard thru' a thing .. and then sometimes I don't think HARD enough!

I will say, again and again, thanks for your patience .. . Bless You!
