simple dissolve not working

Using latest version of Sony Vegas Pro 11 bld 595
Win 7 64bit

Can't drag a simple dissolve. This issue started a few builds ago.
When I drag a clip over another, it simply covers the first clip and makes a hard cut.

using Canon 5D footage - but it's been working for two years.

I'm stumped

I was also having other issues, but solved them by setting all preferences to default. Thought I was done with aggravation - I'm sure it's some little button I have pushed.

Thoughts?

Found the solution myself...
OPTIONS>AUTOMATIC CROSSFADE

How that got "broke" I'll never know.

It's funny how you get used to things - especially things so basic and wonderful.

That's a weird one. I just grabbed a couple of 7D clips and dragged them into Vegas 595 64 Bit and it worked like a charm. Sorry I don't have an answer for ya Sir.

It happens to be a "command" that is pre-set by Sony, since ver 3!
I never goofed it before, so I had no idea where to look.

You sound like my elderly mother. Just yesterday she couldn't figure out why her coffee pot wouldn't heat up . . . she had no water in it. She swore she'd put water in. :-) We're all gettin there.
