I am pretty new to this so plz excuse the newbie layman terms.I picked up vegas moviestudio 4.0 and uleads videostudio 8 to get creative with my daughters videos.The learning curve for ulead wasnt as steep.But now 2 minutes of video,graffix and title tricks and overlays cause system failure-so ive switched to vegas.it rendered the same stuff with relative ease.thank you movie gods.however,what seemed like the simplest of tasks for other programs-has me totally stumped here in vegas land.I now have downloaded vegas 6 and between the two programs still cant do what i want.Here it is -(1)I want to put my daughters face on the easter bunny-have it move around in motion like its talking-i also want to put a milk bottle(png file) next to her and have a title come down the screen in the process....Ulead has 2 video tracks and title-putting the face on the bunny and having a moving title was piece of cake -2 button, ten second process.Sony has an unlimited # of tracks --so I thought i could do more-Was i wrong or just missing something.when i try to put her face on another track it either wont render or blends in with the original still .hhmm picture over oicture not working out so well .then i tried to put the png of milk bottle in pic and when you go to resize it in event pan /crop it moves 2 inches and disapears .Seems you cant move it where you want on the picture---this should be a simple process---no?i should be able to put as many objects on the original pic as i see fit with this many tracks--not to mention motion as well-......could someone tell me where im going wrong --if its this hard to do a simple thing like place overlay objects on the picture with out them dissapearing then how can you add motion.The manual doesnt really cover this and ive found nothing on the forums-like i said this is a simple thing to do in ulead-but that system is unstable and limited--but vegas is a five hundred dollar program---plz help.
