File properties? Flv is not supported. Mp4 need the details.
Quicktime version?

I was hoping someone would tell me this format is now supported. The inability to use FLV format video in Vegas Movie Studio is very regrettable. The huge majority of videos on the internet are in this format. To make the people who wish to use this kind of video convert it to another format is hard to understand. It takes much time and computer resource power.

Regrettable?
Sony and Adobe are competitors.

MP4/AVC files created in Vegas are directly playable in Flash, however.

What I had hoped to do was use a clip from one of many internet sources (FLV format) and put it in the timeline along with some of my own clips which are in .mov format. I'm not so concerned with the final format I'd just like to be able to use FLV files directly. Any other consumer video editing programs that anyone here can recommend that don't allow one to work with flv files directly along with other popular video formats like .mov,.avi etc. Thanks

Just a heads up:
If you are going to use anyone else's material in your video, you need to obtain written permission and give proper credit to the owner. You don't want a copyright suit as a result of a hobby . . .

If you want to download these files to use in Vegas you have no option but to convert them. This is easily done using the download manager in Google which allows you to convert to almost anything you're likely to need.

It would just be for my personal use. For example putting a tennis serve side by side with other players.
Not sure what is meant by "This is easily done using the download manager in Google "? Do you mean Google's Browser Chrome?
I'd greatly prefer not having to convert, for example, an entire 2 hour event (flv) into
some other format when I would only need a minute or two. Looking for other programs or a way to get a plug in for Vegas to simply be able to work with flv.

I've hinted at the obvious licensing issues.
Flv is owned by Adobe. Sony can't use open source decoding libraries.
How much would you like to pay for your Vegas software in order to have this licensed feature?
ADOBE'S OWN EDITING SOFTWARE, PREMIERE ELEMENTS, DOES NOT SUPPORT NATIVE FLV IMPORT.
To sum it up, we'll just have to convert while we're waiting for you to write your plugin ;?)
