Simulate Device Aspect Ratio

Hello,

Exactly what does Options/Simulate Device Aspect Ratio do? I don't find a discussion of this in the Help files. As I start a project, I don't see that I've specified any specific "device" or "aspect" ratio. So, when I'm setting up a project to make discs for use in standard DVD players/4:3 TV's, do I want this "Simulate Device Aspect Ratio" option checked or unchecked to most accurately represent what will be seen on the TV screen? If so, why would I ever want it unchecked? Just seems odd not to find an explanation of this setting anywhere.

Thanks

PC monitor uses square pixels, DVD uses different pixel aspect ratio based on the type of DVD (NTSC or PAL) and the format (4:3 or 16:9).
In order to view the menus and video in the "correct: way, the way it will be displayed on your TV - use simulate device aspect ratio and leave it checked.
