Single Movie plays when Play button is pressed?

This is probably obvious, but it's not described in the DVD-A Help.

I've created a lot of menu-based DVDs, but am now creating a DVD that will be used by our local cable TV channel. They don't want/need menus or chapters.

If I create a "Single Movie" DVD, does that movie start playing as soon as the DVD is loaded into the DVD player? ...or after the DVD is loaded and a person presses the Play button on the player? or...?

It can vary with the player. I have a Pioneer machine that waits for Play to be pressed, but I think that is unusual. Generally such discs play on insertion.

I have a sony DVD changer and a Phillips DVD player and both of them start upon insertion of a DVD and depending on the start item you selected in your project it will start at that point with or without menus. So you might want to keep your menus in the project and DVD as long as you have the room on the disk for them, as you may need them to demo the disk to you client. Of course unless you press the menu button (if it is set "on" in remote properties) on your remote and your end action for the movie is "stop", you wont be able to access those menus. Their are a couple of different ways to hide your menus if you need.
