size of video on tv screen

Hi,
I burned a avi size 480 x 360 to dvd.
When I play it, the video size seems to big on the tv screen, thus reducing the quality.
Of course, it's worse when I burn a video file that's 240 x 180.

Is there a way to burn these files so they show up smaller on the TV screen.

You need to somehow keep the project properties at 720x480. You then need to somehow put the 480x360 video into a 720x480 "wrapper" so it doesn't get re-encoded. I have not actually done this, so that's as far as my advice can go. You might be able to use a utility that "patches" the header of the 480x360 video ...
