Skip in converted WAV file?

So with the inability to use MP3 files in Vegas Pro 9a, I'm using my Adobe Soundbooth to convert MP3 files to WAV before importing to Vegas.

However, I've discovered that when I import the WAV file and put it on the time line as an event, it creates a skip in the song. I converted 3 different songs which contained a skip near the begining of the song. Anyone know what's causing this?

Don't know the answer, but I can put mp3s on the V9.0a timeline without problems.

What settings are you using for the WAV file?

I don't have a problem getting an MP3 onto the timeline, it's that sometimes when I boot up and bring up Vegas it says it can't use the file and I then cannot import any MP3s. An error message comes up, can't find the file, etc.

So I've been using the WAV files instead, which have not done this.

Forgive my ignorance, but what settings are you asking about for the WAV files?
