I'm having the same problem. It doesn't matter what settings I use every build has skips... just in different places. They actually look more like speed variations than skips but either way they don't play properly. I saw another post about a similar issue but it looked to be specific to a certain Apex player. The skips happen for me on any player I try.

I guess all we can do is wait for an update to see which issues are addressed.

Are you using cheap DVD disks? I had the same problem and discovered that all disks are not for video playback - some are for data storage and some are for video. Try a different or better brand name DVD-R. I use pioneer DVD-R's with great success.

I know discs make a big difference. I use Verbatim pretty much exclusively and haven't had problems like this in the past. As a test I made a copy of the problem project using DVD workshop - it plays smoothly. Both mpeg fles were rendered from VV4 so I'm guessing it has to be something in Architect. Come to think of it the one thing I didn't try was burning from my A04 burner instead of the A05...

I've used mitsui and pioneer disc's with no difference. and yes the best way to describe it is the video speeds up and slows down. I have also burned the same file using mydvd and the video plays fine. It's gotta be a bug in dvda.

Yes. There is a known issue with some DVD players that we are working to resolve.

I am having the same problem using a Panasonic LF-D321 DVD-R, and Verbatim or Imation discs. Lowering the maximum data rate from 8 to 6 helped, but it still a couple of stutters on a 20-minute video playing back on several new players, including a few in the local electronics store.
I am about to give it another shot with 1.0a, but my confidence is level is confused.
If it is a player issue, then at least one of them should have played it, but all of them have the problem in the same spot.
I changed from Premiere and DVDit, to Vegas and DVDA, for the surround sound editing, encoding and burning abilities.
I will cross my fingers, and hope that this problem has been resolved, and post my results when I get them.
Good Luck SoFo! Don't let a stumble make you fall.

Well, it is better except for one black flash that remains, a couple of seconds after a cross-dissolve, on a prerendered clip.
Encoded mpeg looks ok, but DVD is bad.

It doesn't look like 1.0a has fixed this problem completely. It does seem to be better than before, but I still had two 'fast forwards' in the first 10 seconds or so of a disc I just burned. The mpeg and VHS copies play properly.

What about when you play the disk in your computer's DVD drive?

I don't have any problems when I do that. However, the same disk will stutter and fast forward all over the place in my DVD player.

The computer shows the same problem, just not on the mpeg file.
When I used DVDit to do a stereo encoded version, the problem dissapeared.

I found my problem. It was that the avi files I was trying to use were too big. I chopped them up to under 500Megs each, and the one problem went away.
I am still however having a time shifting issue now between premiere dv exported files and Vegas timeline and rendered Mpegs.
I think I'll start a new thread with it, after a couple more attempts.

Good Luck
