In Options - Preferences, set the option to automatically overlap, the length of the overlap, and the length of the photos. Then when you drag the entire group to the timeline they'll be overlapped by that amount.

For more variety, use a script. Scripts can set the lengths, set the overlap amounts, and even add random transitions as well as set the Match Aspect, add Pans, add Zooms, and other options as well.

Thanks for the super fast answer. Do you know anywhere I could get those scripts? I would probably just mess around with them for noe. My brother's baby's bday party is on Saturday and he just thought up this great idea yesterday, LOL, nothing like spur of the moment!

The two major scripts that do this task are Excalibur and Ultimate S both of which totally automate the process.

Here's a sample video showing the process using Excalibur as an example.
