Slideshow settings for dvd render

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I have created a slideshow in Vegas Pro 7.0, and have rendered as I would render a video for DVD ie. mpeg2, widescreen PAL, constant bit rate 6.
Some of the photos are quite 'shaky' when I view the end result.
My question is - would the 'shakiness' be due to the original size of the pictures (jpeg) or is this problem the result of my render settings?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

If the slideshow is under 70 min., use a CBR of at least 8.
If you're using good media (Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim), bump it up to 8.5 or even 9.
If the jpegs are too large (more than 2 megs in size or 3 or 4X screen resolution), shrink them down if you can.
Try "Reduce Interlace Flicker" on the whole project.
Lastly, render in "Best" mode, especially for images as it'll keep more of the original quality during the render.

Thank you so much Mike for your speedy help!

I've checked the size of the pics - some are 3meg, others only 400kb, it seems that the smaller pics are the problem. What size do you recommend is best if I resize?

I'll try the higher CBR and other tips you recommend when rendering - I'm using Verbatim DVD's, and the slide show is only 3.5 mins (a bonus for the DVD video). I've got other effects running in the show ie. Frame and glow settings on the 'track motion', pan and crop for each pic for movement, plus a constant background file behind.

Thank you again, Carolyn

3MB and 400KB don't really tell us anything. What matters is the pixel dimensions of the pictures. something like 3600x2700 is probably too large while something like 360x270 is probably too small. shoot for something in the 1024x768ish range.

Thank you both for the tips, I resized all the pics and changed the render setting as suggested - it looks fab now! Thanks!
