Slideshow software suggestions

In another topic Proshow was mentioned as a good slideshow creator program. I looked at the sample videos on their web site and it looked good. But after trying out the free trial version, I'm completely un-impressed. The program is agonizingly slow, and appears that it must pre-render your entire slideshow simply to preview it; unlike Vegas where previewing is an on-the-fly-pseudo render that happens during the preview process.

Are there any other good programs out there that don't suffer from this terrible design flaw?

Might give Wondershare Slideshow Creator a trial run.
It sometimes comes up free at GAOTD.

Have to say Gary, I tried it and bought it almost straight off! Try previewing a WHOLE slideshow in Vegas using Shift+B!! How long would that take - if it was even possible. The preview is built very quickly for me. I guess this is reliant on your system though. It's also amazingly quick on the final render to full HD. :-)

Proshow is quite outstanding...! Just seen a few of their samples. Can they be seen in real time?

Arthur, the only time I find myself needing to use Shift-B is when I want to Preview across some complex transitional effect where I also have a chain of effects applied to the out and in bordering events.

In Proshow I used the Wizard to add 1400 slides to a Project, and it took OVER AN HOUR to input them all as project media. The same thing with audio files. For whatever reason, it takes about 30 seconds per file to do the equivalent of Vegas' "creating peaks" action.

If you want to work within Vegas, you might try Montage Magic.

Gary, got it! - Not for me then. I'll stay with Edward and Johnny's.

VASST Still Motion is only $9.95 USD and plugs right into Vegas Pro and Movie Studio.
