Slideshows

Good Morning,

I purchased Movie Maker Platinum mostly as a tool for creating still photo slideshows. I got tired of the various transitions in other apps (windows cough cough) and liked the looks of this one. I have two questions.

1. Is there a way to apply random transitions/pans to an entire slideshow?
2. Are there templates available for this app? IE. A sports related template for a slide show, or a wedding related template?

I will use this app in the future for video as well but for now I would like to get my feet wet using stills.

1) There is no way to apply random transitions and pans. You have to do it manually. (You can, in preferences, set the duration of a still, and the duration of the transition.)
2) There are no themes that come with VMS, but DVDA of course comes with various themes. You can create them yourself. Here is a example:

One of the advantages of the full version is that you can run scripts. There area cople of script programs out there called Excalibur and Ultimate S. One of those (I forget which) has a script for doing just what you want. However I have found that you still have to fine tune the presenatation as you may find that the pan or zoom is going to the wrong part of the photo. An example of this is the Wii gaming system. It will show a slide show of the photos you have on your still camera SD card and it includes music and pan and zooming but you have basically no control. Kind of a cool feature though.
