Just a heads up for those that are also into doing still images, like for events like weddings etc. A couple fairly new books I recently picked up and recommend highly.
For those needing to touch up and improve stills for use in vids or outright and if you have Photoshop CS or a knock-off applicaion that is similar I highly recommend two very good books:
Photoshop Restoration and Retouching by Katrin Eismann (New Riders) Second Edition
The Photoshop Book for digital photographers by Scott Kelby (New Riders)
Both are well written, far more than just meat and potatos stuff .
The first goes into great detail on how to repair ruined shots, restore old photos and lots and lots of finer points glossed over by other books. Goes into great detail for using Photoshop's powerful but rarely explained lessor tools and features that are great for tweaking images.
The second besides some good general advice gives very detailed step by step tricks on adding or removing aging to subjects, extensive color restoration tips, slimming, triming subjects like removing love handles, transforming frowns into smiles, do a digital nose or boob job and that kind of thing.
I've used Photoshop for years and I learned lots of new stuff. Both books are a little expensive, $40 and $50, but if you see them somewhere, at least thumb through them to see if they would benefit you.
