How do I make a certain part of the clip in slow mo...I understand how to make the whole clip in slow motion with playback rate..but I just want to make a certain part...How do I do that?

Split the clip into two or more events and apply the effect to one event only. (Hold down the CTRL key and drag out the length of the event)

You might wan to try a free copy of aviVelocitator from NateTrue.com. It will let you insert a velocity envelope into your video so you can control the rate of speed over time. Just render the selection you want to change in VideoFactory. Then delete the selection and insert the new clip.
