Right click the clip, Properties, then set playback rate to a value less than 1.00.
This will slow it down. .500 is half-speed, for example.

Another way is to control drag. Go to the clip end, hold down the control key, click and drag the event end out a ways. You'll see a wave line appear on the clip that indicates it has been slo-mo'd. This also works in reverse to speed up the event (fast-mo). Another cool use of control drag is to group up events and then control drag the edge of the first or last clip in the group. It slow-mo's or fast-mo's all of the clips equally. This is really handy for making your clips (especially pictures) match music so they end right with the music. Hope this helps.
