Slow Motion

I am getting frustrated with this, I am trying to make a small portion of a video do some slow motion ( also maybe some fast motion ) when I stretch the clip for the slow and play it back it gives me the slow but the audio is real echo'e and stuttered. I tried the same thing in Premier Pro (30 day demo) and it is smooth as glass and very easy to do. why is it being so weird in vegas. can some one help me.

also I tried to do the shift+b render and it only did a small portion of what I had selected and what I had selected was only about 6 seconds. I have a quad core and 4 gigs of ram running vista 64 with Pro 8c. I have the render set at 512 meg.but I have always had the same problem with ram render.

It sounds like you are using the Ctrl key then grabbing the end of the video and stretching it, correct? If so this does affect both the video and audio.

To slow down or speed up the video only you need to add a velocity envelope to the clip. Put your cursor inside the clip, and right click. About 2/3rds of the way down the dialogue box you'll see, "Insert/Remove Envelope". Put your cursor there and slide to the right to insert the envelope.

You'll see a green line appear. You double click the line which places a box there, just like a volume envelope if you've used it. The rest is easy to figure your with a bit of the F1 help.
