Slow motion issue, both Video and Audio

I'd like to suddenly slow both the Video and the Audio down gradually in a clip..
like.. err.. dunno how to describe this technically, but you could imagine that the thing giving the video power suddenly broke.. and the video kinda...slowly stopped.. get it? I've been looking for it for a while but I'm too much a newbie at this program atm so I haven't been able to sort it. :)

Thankfull for any help you can give :) /Yurimasa

Newbie here too...but, what I think you will need to do is...break up the clips and manually slow down the speed on each a bit the velocity vector slider thingie...

depending on how long the clip is - it may take a bit of tweeking to do - but that's how I think you can do it.

Hope that helps

For video, no problem - use a velocity envelope.

For audio, you will need to use some other program that will allow gradual slowing down of the audio.

To slow down the video with the video envelope, you add points along the line by right clicking on the line where you want the effect to take place. As you hover your mouse over the line Vegas reports the degree of change as a percentage. Moving the points higher on the track increase speed, lower, reduce it. Best results obtained if you zoom in first. As a shortcut when you don't need to be so precise you can simply drag the end of an event. Position cursor over rightmost edge of an event, hold left mouse down while also holding down the Ctrl key then slowly drag left or right. This produces a ziz zag line to indicate a change in the speed. The closer the peaks get when dragging left, the more you will speed up of the action. The further you drag right, the more you will slow action down.

If you have version four it will automatically do a resample of the effected frames which results in smoother playback. If you're using an earlier version you need to select resample by right clicking on the event, under switches resample.

You CAN slow down the audio in Vegas, but do NOT drag the track like above! First, ungroup the audio from the video (right click on audio track, group, remove from so you only effect the audio track. Now click properites, method where you can alter the time span, pitch etc.. This may or may not give the effect you wish. Experiement.
