slow motion tips ?

hi everyone,

can somebody give me a short tutorial how do arrange a slow motion part in my music video with vegas ?
as far as i know by now it seems to have something to do with the frame rate (i think it's about 29fps) .is there any possibility to change it to a higher framerate and then rendering it in slow motion ?
i want this effect in a dreamy scene,any ideas ?

Right-click the clip, choose Insert Velocity Envelope. Change the velocity as needed. You may also want to right-click the clip, choose Properties, and turn on Resample and Reduce Interlace Flicker.

Do a search in the help file or manual on Velocity Envelope to get the details on how it works.

There was a Sting vid a few years back that featured a slomo gag...(This is for lipsync & slomo)

Render the track at 300% speed so it is playing fast (3x). Burn to MD or CD.

Have the talent lipsync on camera to the fast-track.

Place the video in the timline over the regular-speed audio and slow it down to 1/3... the lips should be pretty close, tweek speed or edit to fit.

Works best if normal activity is in frame to distinguish the motion-effect.


Opposite gag (often seen in Times Square):

Render the track at 1/3 speed and burn to MD or CD.

Unique look, shouldn't be overused but is a lot of fun.

Once speed adjusted, try some event filters like glow,lightrays,wave ect. to nail that dream land look. Also might try ghosting. Copy the event up one track and offset by a frame or two. Set opacity to 50%. Vegas is so cool you can even adjust/slide this event while previewing to dial it in. Let us know what you end up doing.
