If you want the entire section to run at a constant speed rather than varying speeds, consider using the Ctrl-Drag method instead of velocity envelopes. Hold the Ctrl key down and drag the end of the clip to the left to "squish" it and speed it up, or to the right to "stretch" it and slow it down. This process will affect both audio and video together.
