Slowing down credit roll

Renald wrote on 1/15/2005, 12:35 PM
I've managed to create and edit a credit roll, inserting it at the end of my movie, but on play-back, I find that it "rolls" too fast... just under 10 seconds, which is not long enough for viewers to read the dozen or so credits I've acknowledged.

Is there some way to slow down the "roll"? slow-motion type? I've tried time-stretching the event, but that only causes the roll to repeat itself from the beginning, at the same uncomfortable speed.

I hope there is another answer!

Thanks,

Renald

Real easy, Renald.

In the window where you type the credits (click on the FX button the clip to re-open it) look in the upper right-hand corner and you'll see a box labeled "Media Length." Just by typing a higher number there, the roll will slow down. (Note that you may have to then lengthen the clip to fit the whole roll in.)

Or, to the right of the number itself, you'll see a little left/right arrow icon. Mouse over this and you'll see "set to event length." Click on it, and it will automatically set the length of the credit roll to the length of the media event itself.

Someone out there who is smarter than me might know when you'd ever want it to NOT be set to the event length; I suppose there might be a time when you would want things to repeat.

Thanks, Grisetti (also Gogiants!). I had done as you both suggested but omitted to adjust the length of the event on the timeline...hence was being cut off in the middle of the credits stream. All's well now, many thanks!
